課程概述

本課程旨在介紹健康社會學的基本概念與理論，主要介紹國內外健康不平等、疾病行為、健康行為，以及健康相關的文化議題的研究成果。本課程主要從三個向度來理解社會與健康的互動：1)生命歷程；2)社會脈絡；3)文化慣習。生命歷程指的是在不同生命階段，影響健康最核心的因素不同，例如，嬰幼兒時間以親子與家庭關係最為重要；在青少年期間則是以同儕關係為主家庭為輔；成人階段則是受到教育、職業及社會地位影響身心健康，例如教育的不平等造成好工作的機會不同，職業是白領或藍領，專業技術/政務主管或非專業技術主管等社會位階差序或社會歧視造成的社會心理調適機制(psychosocial mechanisms)，如吸菸、成瘾、情绪性飲食等，都可能造成健康不良結果。到了中、老年則可能會受到家庭、社區及國家照顧體系的影響較多。在不同生命階段，我們需要著重不同的關鍵因素。社會脈絡面向則是要強調從人際互動關係、家庭、工作類型、組織機構、社群、社區，以致於整個社會體制及文化規範來暸解行為形成的原因。最後，我們也必須體認到一個社會所累積的文化信念對健康信念的影響，進一步影響個人對醫療系統的詮釋及選擇。
由於生命與健康的現象錯綜複雜，從不同的角度加以檢視以瞭解問題的本質及形成機轉，才能進一步從不同層次解決問題。 

課程目標
 培養學生認識重要社會與行為科學理論與概念，及其在健康與醫療上的應用，並能以此為基礎，探討當代健康議題。
修習本課程之後，學生能：
1. 瞭解健康的社會行為科學的相關理論與概念
2. 掌握文獻對健康的社會、心理、信念與行為等決定因子的研究成果
3. 運用相關健康社會行為科學的研究及理論概念來剖析當代健康議題。 
課程要求
 出席、小組討論及參加期中期末報告 (**本學期課程採小組報告方式進行討論，學期中請假不得超過5次以上。)
